A muscle-costume is not just for Halloween

When we look at all our popular fictional superheroes and indeed our everyday real life male heroes, what do we tend to think of as one of their main defining characteristics? Firstly, who are we talking about here? Well, there's Iron Man, Superman, Batman, Spiderman - straight from the pages of our favorite comic books and the movies - you get the picture. As for the real life heroes, our thoughts turn to strongman stereotypes such as firemen, boxers and other sportsmen. The common feature, of course, is their ample endowment with muscles. They may be a rare breed and it would be hard for mere mortals to compete with, if it were not for the miracle that is the muscle costume!

So what is the attraction of dressing up in a muscle costume, I hear you ask? Well, I think that every man and boy has, at some point in their lives, fantasized about, at the very least, impressing everyone with their jaw-dropping muscle-bound physique. Moreover, if you bring in the superhero element, then you are entering the realms of being able to transcend the boring ordinariness of everyday life and being like everyone else, and being able to save the planet from the evil villains who seek to take it over and enslave its inhabitants. Well, for a gorgeous muscular body you can either work out at the gym, or go for the easy option and wear a muscle man suit.

If you are wondering when you can legitimately get away with wearing a muscle man costume, then several occasions spring to mind. The most obvious event is Halloween. It could be for a fancy dress party or perhaps for trick or treating. The great thing about muscle costumes is that they offer you a lot of flexibility. You could opt for just the biceps, or the ever-popular muscle chest costume or go all the way with a full-body muscle suit costume. Then it is up to you, how you dress it up or even dress it down. You can be a bit mysterious and wear a muscle outfit underneath your normal clothes, or perhaps with some sort of uniform. On the other hand, use it as part of the whole superhero look. The choice is yours.

Muscle costumes are an excellent idea for Halloween because they work for the whole family - not just the father, but there is a kids muscle costume suitable for everyone - teen, boy, toddler and even baby. The family theme could be that everyone dresses up as the same character, such as Iron Man, because small children love to be just like his pops and copy it. Could be complementary, such as Batman and Robin, for those superhero idea and desired mate. Alternatively, you can choose the topic and muscle are each family member representing a different superhero - Captain America, Wolverine, the Hulk - who feel. This last idea also works well for groups of friends going out together at a party - a common theme of male bonding coupled with eachperson's individuality.

Halloween is not by any means the only time of year when you could go out in a muscle costume. Obviously, these outfits would be suitable for any kind of fancy dress costume party, for both adults and for kids. You could also look beyond the normal parties, and think of other occasions. Now I am not going to spell out the possibilities for you here. Use your imagination and I am sure that you can really use your muscle costume to your advantage!

Twinkle Costumes Light Up Halloween 2009

Twinkle costumes are more than just what their name entails. When I think of twinkle, images of stars and Christmas lights come to mind. It is amazing to see the new Halloween costumes for both kids and adults that are lighting up and offering a unique and impressive change to what has been the traditional costume dress.

Also known as Light Up or Fiber Optic costumes, Twinkle costumes have fiber optic lights weaved through the material, whether it is a skirt, dress, pants, or hat. Small battery packs and on/off switches control the lights, allowing power to be saved in the daytime when lighting is less lightly to be seen. The lights turn on with the flick of a switch, and costumes immediately start flashing and twinkling. As the night gets darker, these fiber optic twinkle costumes become a moving decoration, lighting up like colorful webs.

Kids can feel extra special as they watch their costumes light up and no one else has a lighted costumes. Amazing costumes exist for girls and boys, from Spiderman fiber optic and glow in the dark costumes to the adorable Twinkle Pumpkin Princess kids costume and the Twinkle Witch kids costume for girls. Safety Tips For Kids Halloween Costumes

During all the excitement of Halloween celebrations, dangers associated with costumes are rarely on the minds of the average person. They are, however, of serious concern. Despite the so-called safety testing conducted by costume makers and manufacturers, individuals are harmed by unsafe Halloween costumes every October. By being aware of the possible dangers and taking steps to protect yourself, you can enjoy a safe and pleasant holiday.

One the dangers of unsafe habits can make for example, is a one-year-old boy of seven years in 2004 was severely burned. The photographs were taken and distributed to the children Lord of the Rings Ring Wraith costume, despite the flames and the bad boy is still in production again and sold. How do you protect your children from such a tragedy?

First, consider the material used to make costume. These are made of 100% nylon or polyester better because they do not tend to takefire. Even if they do, the flames are quickly extinguished. Besides the danger of the fire itself, melted polyester can drip onto and burn the skin. Be aware that some costumes have decorations or trimmings that are polyester or nylon while the costume itself is not. Anything apart from these pieces can potentially catch fire and burn, including any other article of clothing the child is wearing apart from the costume itself. Many costumes of superheroes contain ignitable foam padding. Costumes that are 100% acrylic come with the most potential danger since they are highly flammable.

Beware of homes with Halloween decorations that feature lit candles or other open flames. Avoid using these in your own home as well. Since costumes tend to be larger and less maneuverable than most clothing, children may have a hard time ensuring that it does not come in contact with decorative candles.

Besides the obvious risks associated with fire, Halloween costumes put their wearers in danger for other reasons. Costumes that are especially long and that include masks or other headwear could impede clear vision and make children more susceptible to tripping and falling, which is responsible for many injuries annually.

Using contact lenses of a specific design or color has become more popular in recent years as a part of many costumes. These contacts, sold anywhere from flea markets to gas stations, are popular with adults and can cause serious eye problems. They have been implicated in bacterial infections, corneal abrasions, and other injuries that can permanently affect vision.

The sale of such contacts is essentially unregulated, so their level of cleanliness and overall quality cannot be trusted. The best rule to follow is simple. Don't put things into your eyes that shouldn't be there in the first place.

While there certainly are some dangers associated with its celebration, Halloween can be an enjoyable day for everyone. Simply apply the above mentioned suggestions and stay safe during this holiday.

Halloween Costumes Ideas For Kids

Halloween is one of kids' most favorite time of year since they get to participate in "trick or treat" activities. In addition to that, they also love the idea of dressing up and wearing cute halloween costumes that enable them to assume a different persona, which is both fun and creative. As a parent, you won't have to purchase expensive costumes since it is possible to do it on your own using only basic skills and crafting techniques.

Choosing Kids Costumes

In order to choose Halloween costumes that your kid will enjoy and have fun wearing, it is best to conceptualize early. If you intend to make one yourself at home, then you still have to gather basic supplies you need and require enough time to put them together. Shop at various craft stores and secondhand shops for all the items you need for your kid's costume idea.

Today's modern world has offered a lot of opportunities and ideas that you can use for creating your child's Halloween costumes. For instance, you can get valuable tips on the internet by typing in the keyphrase "homemade Halloween costumes". Or, you can seek for suggestions from your child to ensure that they will be able to appreciate the costume you put together. For kids, there is seemingly an endless array of options available, such as the following:

*Movie or Television Characters: Kids love watching television and cartoon movies, so why not get ideas from famous characters they see at their favorite shows or movies? Some of the most common Halloween costume ideas for kids include Disney characters, super heroes, and Scooby Doo characters.

*Halloween Classics: This is the most appropriate theme that you can use for your child. Let them pick a character they want, whether it be witches, ghosts, monsters, zombies, wizards, and so much more.

*Animals/Insects: This idea is very simple to create and yet it draws a lot of attention from fellow children. Hence, you can let your child stand out from the crowd with costumes the mimic spiders, ladybugs, bees, cats, bunnies, among others.

Kids Halloween Costumes - Yogi Bear Makes The Cutest Costume

Halloween is fast approaching, a little to fast for some including myself, and finding the right costume for an excited child can become irritating and result in spontaneous impulse buying.

Every year there are "top ten costumes," "the best costume to buy" etc and can be overwhelming and yes, gives us too much of a choice, which I know, is a little bit whiny and spoilt, but putting your child in the wrong costume can bring it's own problems.

This year though, in November, the once great Yogi Bear is making a triumphant return to the big screen with Dan Aykroyd as Yogi, and Justin Timberlake as Boo Boo, and is sure to be a hit with kids.

Now, not many of today's children will be familiar with Yogi Bear, but most of us adults grew up with this fantastic Hanna Barbera cartoon and went about repeating his "I'm smarter than the average bear" and other catchphrases. And who could forget his adorable trusting side kick Boo Boo.

Due to the release of this movie, some great costumes have come about for the Halloween or for any fancy dress party, and sure that a wider range will follow suit as soon as the movie is released.

For now, there is an adorable range of Yogi bear and other bear costumes for kids, and also adults, available on the net. Looking to dress your child up for Halloween as the cutest bear around, then check out these child's costumes, they are perfect for infants and toddlers, and sure to be a huge hit because of the movie, which I'm looking forward too.

The great thing about the release of this movie is I'm sure, TV stations will now start repeating the original cartoons, if they are not already doing so, and this will introduce our children once again to the genius and humor of Yogi Bear and the pain of poor Ranger Smith, and remind us of our childhood too.

It will also prompt Halloween costume companies to make some more excellent Yogi Bear and hopefully Boo Boo costumes, on top of the Child's Bear costumes already available.

So be sure to be ahead of the pack This Halloween with the cutest child bear costume and enjoy the coming movie as I'm sure I will.
